For nearly 200 years, Maple Springs Farm has been been in the business of feeding people. The fifth and sixth generations are still making Maple Springs Farm a productive beef cattle and hay operation.

Current owner/operator, Jeff Slaven, first started selling Stur-D livestock equipment in 2001 because he had a need for it around the farm. After acquiring a few more products, he decided this business needed a name separate from the farm. Cattlemen's Supply was born in 2006.

Today, Cattlemen's Supply offers a wide variety of livestock equipment, fencing materials and other farm resources to make a farmer's life more efficient- after all, this is business created for farmers, by farmers. The materials sold are used every day at Maple Springs, so if you are interested in know what your purchase will look like after thousands of cattle have used it, just take a peek in the barn. We're excited to serve the agricultural community and farmers of all kinds with quality, durable, and affordable farm and field products.

Jeff Slaven
Jeff has been farming since his earliest memories, a passion that he contributes to his grandfather. He understands that as a small business owner, you must be innovative in your industry and adaptable to consumer demand. His agricultural experience ranges from being a Virginia Department of Agriculture livestock grader to greenhouse vegetable production.
Marshall Slaven
As the sixth generation at Maple Springs Farm, Marshall takes great pride in caring for the herd of which he is part owner. He expanded his knowledge in the family business by completing a business certificate course at Blue Ridge Community College in 2013. Marshall branched into his own custom hay wrapping business in 2014.
Brett Smiley
As the newest team member of Cattlemen's Supply at Maple Springs Farm, Brett brings experience from his associate's degree in agricultural production, graduating from Virginia Tech in May 2016. If he's not on the lot helping customers, Brett enjoys checking cows on the four-wheeler.
